Our Future-proof Career Blueprint

Abigayle's Journey to Tech

Let’s rewind. I was the girl in high school with tech dreams but no Computer Science classes, no club, and no roadmap. So I made my own. I founded the first Girls Who Code club in Hilo, Hawai’i, teaching myself programming skills as I went. I revived a tiny robotics team, led as the only female programmer, and we became state champions.

When college came, I thought things would get easier. Instead, my small liberal arts school had zero resources for breaking into Product Management, my new dream. So I got scrappy. I devoured free online resources, networked like crazy, and scaled a mental health nonprofit to 100+ chapters and 100k+ members.

Creating my own opportunity helped me land 8 job opportunities

After landing eight jobs by forging my own path, I had a realization: you will burn out if you grow your career alone.

While others had the mentors and the connections guiding them into lucrative summer internships, I was out there inventing my own playbook. I was the one reaching out, cold-emailing leaders, and pitching myself for roles that didn’t even exist yet.

Today, I’m writing this as someone who’s built a career (and a life) on the belief that you don’t have to wait for permission. The early career talent in our community and I are winning on our terms creating our own opportunities, supporting each other, and redefining what’s possible.

But let’s be real: breaking into tech is still full of obstacles.

  • How do you actually get noticed without burning yourself out?

  • How do you land a role when you don’t have connections or a traditional background?

That’s why I created netwrk.

Why is it called The Netwrk?

Many online career communities lack the proper structure and systems to legitimize a foundation of success for its members. Hence, networking with others can feel transactional, stuffy, and manipulative. But, if you don't have a support circle, your career loses momentum, preventing you from reaching your dream life. The Network symbolizes a movement that reimagines the traditional networking, ultimately empowering you with the right tools to succeed in your career.

Who is this for again?

Any individual in the early career talent space with ambition, but feel a lack of actionable guidance and accountability to accomplish them.

What makes The Network different than other early career communities?

Abigayle has consistently grown through what she goes through.

She went to a high school without a single Computer Science class or club despite wanting to learn to code. So she started the first Girls Who Code club in Hilo, Hawai’i, self-taught programming skills, and revitalized a competitive robotics club to become state champions. At her small liberal arts college, she noticed a lack of career resources to successfully break into Product Management. As a result, Abigayle persisted by utilizing free online resources, networking relentlessly, and scaling a mental health nonprofit to 100+ chapters, she achieved this all while battling a toxic living situation, juggling multiple Computer Science classes, and working a part-time job to pay for school. Despite it all, Abigayle has built a successful career in the tech industry with 8+ jobs offers and a powerful online personal brand of 35k+ across all platforms Abigayle wants to help others realize it's possible to build a successful career despite their circumstances. Her superpower? Building a loyal community that supports each other through the thick and thin.
